Closter To Allow Beehives On Borough Properties
Financial Spread Trading The borough is taking some of the sting out of its ban on beekeeping. A town law prohibiting the raising, keeping, and harboring of bees will be amended to allow honeybee hives to be kept on two borough-owned properties.
A borough of Bergen County, N.J., Closter is considered by many to be the ub of the Northern Valley, with shopping, recreational activities and a variety of service resources. The borough has a population of 8, 383 residents and a median household income of $83, 918.
Nfl Betting Spread "We are going to amend the current ordinance,'' Board of Health President Donald Winters said Friday. "I just hope we could all move forward and resolve this issue."

I plan to vote no in Closter's special school election Sept. 30. Maybe, just maybe, Closter can hold on to what is left of this community's suburban quality of life. Gerald G. Griffin Closter, 2003
Advanced Commodity Spread Closter has prohibited beekeeping since 1983 with an ordinance that carries fines up to $500, but the law had not been enforced.
The hearing is a necessary part of the state's process to revoke the borough's water allocation permit, which allows the municipality to operate the well. The well, which is located in Berlin Township but is owned by Berlin Borough, was shut off last week, said borough engineer Chris Noll. It was temporarily taken offline because the borough does not need the well's draw to meet its water requirements at this time. Noll said he did not know when the well would be operational again.

Stock Spread Trading Soon, neighbors of the park, including an alternate member of the Board of Health, began to complain about the increasing number of bees in the area, and expressed fear about getting stung. Neighbors discovered the bee ordinance, which prompted officials to call a special meeting and decide to enforce the ban.

Complete Guide Spread Trading With such a move under consideration, Borough Health Officer Louis Apa received a letter this week from resident Lori Bankson, who said she was stung by three honeybees at MacBain in September. In her letter, Bankson said the stings sent her to the hospital for eight hours because she could not breathe. Furthermore, she wrote, she has been on strong medication since being stung, which has prevented her from going to work.
Sport Spread Betting "It is not my desire to pursue legal action. However, if you change the existing law to allow bees at MacBain Farm, I feel I have a civic responsibility to take legal action to protect the public," Bankson wrote.
Low Spread Forex Trading Winters said the board decided to move forward with changes to the law after the board's attorney, Chris Stevenson, advised that Bankson would have a hard time winning in court.
Trading Spread And Seasonals Winters said the ordinance review committee will write up a new measure and bring it before the entire board, which would then present it to the Borough Council.
Betting Guide Insider Sports "There will be certain conditions connected to it,'' Winters said, noting that the measure would require fences and a water supply near the hives at the two parks.
Arbitrage Spread Trading Marc Gussen, caretaker and naturalist at the Closter Nature Center, said revising the ordinance is the right thing to do. Gussen had to move his honeybee hive from the nature center last month after town officials decided to enforce the law.
