His uniform number 33 was retired before Roberson' season game in 1992. He was killed in an automobile crash in his hometown of Buffalo, N.Y. in May 1993 and was inducted posthumously into the UVM Athletic Hall of Fame the following October.

We had a number of real talented seniors on the '63 squad, one even went pro and played for the Vikings."
