TechTarget's Storage and Information Security Win Seven "Tabbie" Awards
Magazines Receive Two Golds and Four Silvers for Excellence in International Competition
NEEDHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 14, 2004--Information technology (IT) media company TechTarget announced today that its magazines, Storage and Information Security, were honored with seven awards in the "Tabbie" competition organized by Trade, Association and Business Publications International (TABPI).
The inaugural competition recognizes design and editorial excellence in English-language trade, association and business publications from around the world. The competition covers 12 editorial categories, ranging from Editor's Column to Best Single Issue, and six design categories, including Opening Page or Spread and Front Cover, Photograph. English-language publications with a 2003 publication date were eligible for entry.
Storage Recognized for Design and Editorial Excellence:
-- "Reeling in a Bigger Salary" (December 2003) won the Gold for Opening Page or Spread design. The spread features an illustration by Daniel Baxter and art direction by Mary Beth Cadwell.
-- Editor-in-chief Mark Schlack's editorial, "The Crisis in Software" (October 2003) took the Silver for Editor's Column
-- The multipart "SAN Security" series (August, September, October 2003), by W. Curtis Preston won the Silver for How-To Article or Series
-- The April 2003 issue of Storage placed in the "Top 25 Issues" in the Best Single Issue category.
Information Security Nets a Gold and Two Silvers:
-- "Certifiable" (June 2003), by editor in chief Andrew Briney bested all entries to win the Gold for Feature Article
-- "Vulnerable Commodity" (February 2003), by news editor Shawna McAlearney took the Silver for Single News Article
-- "How Vulnerable?" (March 2003), by Joel Snyder won the Silver for Technical Article.
